Argentina is a culturally rich country, with music, food, family, and yerba at the heart of their society; every meal feels special. Classic high school exchange program
Age and eligibility
You must be between the ages of 15 and 17 and be enrolled at school when applying. Exceptions may be made for 14.5 year old students.
Visa
Students require a visa for Academic Semester and Academic Year programs.
All students must attend an interview in Sydney for their visa interview.

Schools
Schools run from mid-March to early December with a two-week winter vacation in July. There is a fixed subject curriculum until Year 9. From Year 10 there are three streams of specialisation to choose from. Students wear school uniforms and attend school 7:30am – 4pm. School days always start with a ritual around the national flag where students have to remain silent around the flag or sing the national anthem.
Program length
The Classic Academic Year program begins in February, while the Classic Academic Semester programs are offered in both February and July. Short programs lasting 2 or 3 months are also available with departures in February and July.
Language criteria
Students must be able to hold basic conversations, with a language level higher than A1. Students commence with an Immersion Week either in person or online (depending on numbers), including two-hour daily Spanish lessons with a native teacher, followed by workshops with a tutor focusing on various cultural aspects to assist with adapting to life in Argentina.

Immersion Week
Upon arrival, all students fly into Córdoba. If participating in the in-person Immersion Week, students are transferred directly to the residential program and will meet their host families at its conclusion. If the Immersion Week is delivered online, students are transferred to their host families upon arrival. This structure is designed to support a smooth transition into the local environment, helping students build confidence and a sense of belonging before the start of school.
During this period, students take part in two-hour daily Spanish lessons with a native teacher, followed by workshops led by a tutor focusing on cultural aspects to support their adaptation to life in Argentina. This experience plays an important role in ensuring a positive and enriching start to their exchange.
The Immersion Week is offered for February (5- and 10-month students) and July arrivals (Semester students only). The format (in person or online) will depend on final student numbers. Optional extras may be available for other programs, and a detailed schedule of activities will be provided closer to departure.
